Comba Telecom Named As Tier 1 Antenna Supplier Globally for Fifth Consecutive Year by EJL Wireless Research

(3 October 2016, Hong Kong) - Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited (“Comba” or “the Group,” Hong Kong stock code: 2342), a global leading wireless solutions provider, today announced that it has been named a “Tier 1” antenna supplier, according to the latest research report from industry analyst firm EJL Wireless Research. Comba retained its longstanding position, since 2011, among the report’s top three suppliers by unit volume.

In a prestigious report[1], EJL Wireless included Comba as one of only five companies globally in the highest category: “We would define a Tier 1 antenna supplier as one who has substantial R&D capabilities and market share.” In actual terms, the Tier 1 antenna suppliers collectively controlled more than 75 percent of total shipments in 2015, up from 70 percent in 2014, according to the report. In 2015, the top three suppliers, including Comba, shipped more than 2.7 million units.

Carol Ye, Deputy General Manager, Antennas and Subsystems of Comba Telecom, said: “We work hard to serve our customers in more than 80 countries and develop technology for their practical, large-scale needs. This value transcends industry changes, and I credit it for how we’ve remained a global leader while the wireless industry has evolved. We’re delighted to be recognized as a Tier 1 antenna supplier by EJL Wireless Research every year since 2011.”

To serve global customer needs over time, Comba has developed a comprehensive portfolio of wireless products and services, including in the antenna category. In addition to base station antennas highlighted in the EJL Wireless Research report, Comba offers cluster antennas, camouflage antennas, indoor antennas, radio frequency conditioning and select categories of subsystems.

Comba’s Tier 1 recognition from EJL Wireless Research is due to not only its market share but also R&D capabilities. In Comba’s customer base, the Group supplies major wireless infrastructure around the globe. At the 2016 Summer Games held in Rio de Janeiro and other cities around Brazil, Comba provided wireless solutions and enabled mobile device users to enjoy a ubiquitous and high capacity wireless experience at four soccer stadiums. Among the company’s R&D are its joint efforts with the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) for smart city and Internet of Things technology (loT), recently resulting in a Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) Platform showcased at the CTIA Super Mobility show in the United States.
