Comba Telecom Launches New Generation of Small Form Factor, Lightweight 4G LTE Base Station Antennas

Signs Turkish Mobile Operator as First Customer in Million Dollar Deal to Deliver Antennas for 4G Network Rollout

HONG KONG, April 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited ("Comba Telecom" or "the Group", Hong Kong stock code: 2342), a global leading wireless solutions provider, announced the commercial launch of its new range of 4G LTE base station antennas. At the same time, it also revealed it had signed a million dollar agreement with one of Turkey's leading mobile operators for the supply of the new antenna models for the 4G LTE network being rolled out by the operator.

Compatible with 790-960MHz and 1710-2690MHz frequencies, the new multi-band antenna features eight ports with an integrated remote control unit (iRCU) - a key enabler for the antenna to have a reduced form factor and lighter weight. The iRCU allows the operator to remotely adjust the tilt of the antenna to optimize the network coverage and minimize the interference in accordance to mobile traffic conditions on timely basis. In addition to accommodating 2G, 3G and 4G bands, these design factors allow for Comba Telecom's antenna to be especially easy to install, thereby facilitating a faster mobile network rollout.

Ms. Carol Ye, Deputy General Manager, Antenna and Subsystems said, "This new generation of base station antennas marks a new technological achievement for Comba Telecom and improves total cost of ownership for operators. The key iRCU unit is a plug-in module that can be easily changed for maintenance and repairs. Compared to traditional external RCUs, the iRCU significantly reduces the number of connectors, RF cables and space required, thus allowing for Comba Telecom's antennas to have a smaller footprint and weight without sacrificing quality and performance. We invested considerable R&D effort to bring this solution to the market, and in fact, Comba Telecom is one of the very few antenna manufacturers that can offer an eight port multiband antenna with integrated remote control units."

Mr. Brian Donohue, Vice President of Comba Telecom Systems International Limited and General Manager of the Group's European operations said, "We are delighted and honored to supply our antennas to help with Turkey's latest 4G network rollout. Base station antennas are a vital component of any mobile network and we have worked closely with the operator to vigorously test, analyze and trial our antennas to ensure the best performance and, most importantly, the needs of the operator are met now and in the future as their network develops."
